Does God still love the world—his marvelous creation? Does God Love Us? John 3:16
John 3:16, one of the most quoted scriptures in the Bible assures us of God’s love for His human family, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” What a tremendous love he had for us to sacrifice his own son. Does God love us enough to sacrifice the one who was daily His delight? Most parents could not imagine giving up their child to help someone else.
Some may ask, "Does God still love us..." since those words were written nearly two thousand ago and such a relatively small number of earth’s inhabitants have ever accepted the gospel that Jesus preached. With every passing day the world seems to grow more evil and ungodly. How could God still love us?
Our answer is in James 1:17, where the apostle tells us, “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.” And again we are told in Num 23:19, “God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?” These scriptures should remove all doubt that God does still love the world. He had John write it many years ago and it is still true today. God does not lie nor does he change His mind. If He says He loves us--He loves us! We just may not understand. What he says will all be fulfilled in His own due time.
