When will there be no more death, etc., like its promised?
Solomon, in Eccl. 3:11 said, He has made everything appropriate in its time. He has also set eternity in their [mankinds] heart. (NAS) From the beginning of mankinds existence on this earth he has always had the hope of living forever; of a future golden age where there would be no more death or sickness and where mankind would dwell in everlasting peace and happiness. The hope of eternal life is a part of mans innate makeup put there by his maker.
John 5 verses 28 & 29 tell us that ALL will be reawakened, including those in their graves, that will bring about a time of no more death eventually. This scripture says some will come forth to damnation, and many think that they will instantly be judged only to be returned to hell. But the real meaning of damnation implies a trial followed by a final judgment. God now is only judging or trying the church class, taken from mankind, who will aid in helping the rest of the world when they are awakened to pass their test, which will hopefully lead to eternal life.
Our first parents Adam and Eve were tried in the Garden of Eden. Their trial resulted in failure on their part and they received the judgment of death because they did not implicitly trust and obey God. When mankind is brought back to life, they will be given a new trial, and if they are faithful to God and His righteous principles, may go into the kingdom prepared for them from the foundation of the world. (Matt. 25:34)
This will be the resurrection--eternal, everlasting life, with no more death or sickness. This will be the final reward for those who will choose life by conforming their lives to the spirit and letter of Gods kingdom law. When the thousand years of trial and testing is finished, then will come the glorious resurrection that mankind has so long prayed for. (Matt. 6:10)
The Greek word for resurrection is anastasis. Anastasis means an uplifting out of sin and death. The word resurrection implies eternal, everlasting life. (Rev. 21:4) The process of resurrection (a trial followed by a final judgment) will take a thousand years to accomplish and will give all enough time to learn righteousness by undoing the evil and sin of their former lives and by loving the Lord their God with all their heart, soul, mind, and strength and their neighbor as themselves. (Mark 12:30, 31) They will learn that Gods ways lead to life and happiness and that disobedience will lead to death; eternal death, where there will be no hope of another resurrection. (John 12:50)
And what a blessing it will be for all when Isaiah 35:10 becomes a reality: And the ransomed of the LORD shall return, and come to Zion with songs and everlasting joy upon their heads: they shall obtain joy and gladness, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away. This will be the result of the ransom Jesus paid so many years ago for all. (1 Tim. 2:6) No more death!
