Will there really be a resurrection of man on earth?
God in numerous scriptures has assured us that there will be a resurrection of ALL mankind to the earth, to ultimately, if they will, learn righteousness and live forever.
Acts 3:21 tells of times of restitution that was spoken by all his [Gods] holy prophets since the beginning of the world. Restitution is the restoration of all things lost to man through sin and by definition, this includes the resurrection of man, the restoration of his very life.
The Apostle Paul in 1 Cor. 15:13, 14 poses the proposition to some followers of Christ who evidently were beginning to doubt the resurrection of man from death and asks, that if they did not believe that the dead would be restored to life then they missed the entire point of Jesus death and resurrection and even their own mission of preaching Christ was erroneous. Christs entire first advent was to give himself a ransom for all mankind so that all may receive a resurrection. (1 Tim. 2:6; 1 John 2:2)
In the same chapter of 1 Corinthians (vss. 21, 22), Paul states, For since by man [Adam] came death, by man [Jesus] came also the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive. Jesus died for all mankind so that all may receive the promised resurrection.
Father Abraham was promised that through his seed all the families of the earth would be blessed (Gen. 22:18) and that he would inherit the land for an everlasting possession. (Gen. 13:15-17). Since Abraham is dead and waiting for his resurrection, and since he has never seen his offspring as the sands of the seashore or the stars of heaven or possessed one foot of land on the earth during his life it stands to reason that none of these promises have as yet been fulfilled to him. When and how will he receive them? He will see them when he is resurrected to the land he was promised and when ALL the families of the earth are resurrected. Then he and his seed will bless all mankind. To bless ALL, all mankind from Adam on must be resurrected to receive the blessing promised to Abraham.
